Inclusion of persons with disabilities in the Disaster Risk Reduction (DI DRR) programmes in 21 villages of Chandrapur and Dimoria Blocks of Kamrup Metropolitan District of Assam is a one and half years project intervention supported by Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR), Forum, Bangalore. The intervention aims at making the Local community to take responsibility for the growth and development of its members who have disabilities as it does for its other members, making use of all the available resources and opportunities. The project is carried out in 21 villages under Chandrapur and Dimoria Blocks of Kamrup Metropolitian District. The project focuses on improving the living conditions of the Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) especially during disaster. It tries to enhance the standard of living of the PwDs by helping them to assess entitlements and services through the efforts of the community. It also encourages the PwDs to take initiatives and take decisions for their betterment. The PwDs will be included in the developmental programmes, services and activities in the community.
