Emergency Flood Relief Distribution 2024 Guwahati Gana Seva Society (GGSS) – Morigaon District, Assam

In response to the devastating floods in Morigaon district, Assam, Guwahati Gana Seva Society (GGSS) undertook an emergency relief distribution initiative to support affected families. This relief effort was crucial in addressing the immediate needs of vulnerable communities suffering from the impact of the disaster.

GGSS provided emergency relief to 1,057 flood-affected families from 10 flood-prone villages under the Laharighat and Mayong blocks. The assistance included dry rations and hygiene kits, ensuring that families had access to essential food supplies and sanitation resources to combat the adverse effects of the flood. The total expenditure for the relief distribution amounted to Rs. 27,87,361.00, which was made possible through the generous support of Manos Unidas, Spain. This funding played a critical role in enabling GGSS to extend timely and effective aid to the flood-affected population.

The emergency relief initiative by GGSS provided much-needed support to vulnerable families, helping them sustain themselves during this crisis. The collaborative effort between GGSS and Manos Unidas, Spain, highlights the importance of timely humanitarian intervention in disaster-affected regions.
