STEAD (Supporting Tribal adolescent girls towards Empowerment, Amity and Development) Project is supported by Manos Undias Spain for a 3 years period and implemented in 20 rural tribal villages under Tamulpur Block, Baksa District of Assam.
Aim -Empowerment and development of rural tribal adolescent girls in 20 villages in Baksa District, Assam
The STEAD project focuses on the integrated development of 350 tribal adolescent girls belonging to BPL (Below Poverty Line)families in 20 rural villages under Tamulpur Block, Baksa District, Assam through awareness creation on their basic rights and reproductive and sexual health, life skill education programmes, formation of Adolescent Girls Clubs, initiating Savings Bank Accounts and Income Generation Activities. It is expected that the project will enhance their capacity to be productive members of the society as well as stand in good stead in their future lives. The project intends to equip the girls to face life with dignity and self esteem irrespective of external factors and help them to become change makers in their patrimonial & matrimonial homes, communities for wider and long term impact.
