FARM Northeast: Phase – II is a three-year agricultural and community development initiative implemented from August 2016 to July 2019 in 15 villages under Dimoria Block, Kamrup Metro District. The project aimed to revitalize traditional agricultural practices, strengthen governance systems, and foster collective socio-economic development through the People Led Development Approach (PLDA).

A total of 1,298 farming households, comprising 6,770 individuals, are identified as beneficiaries of the project. The intervention took initiative to identify Local farmers with expertise in various agricultural domains as resource persons to provide training and support to their fellow farmers. It aimed to facilitate and empower the farming families to adopt traditional farming methods such as organic manure composting, bio-pest repellent preparation, seasonal vegetable cultivation, and indigenous seed preservation.

Men and women farmers are prioritised to actively engage in diverse farming activities, including pig and duck farming, local poultry rearing, beekeeping, nursery management, and cultivation of crops such as ginger, turmeric, and drumsticks. The project also is designed to encourage kitchen gardening with multi-cropping techniques to ensure food security and nutritional diversity. Through these collective efforts, the project intervention will empower local farmers, preserve indigenous knowledge, and enhance sustainable livelihoods in the region.
